Kom over denne på nettet. Bygget i 1991.
These are of my '66 912 "speedster", (early green 3 gauge dash).
The conversion was done by Ted Williams in 1991. According to the article that was in 'European Car' March 1993 he changed the rear body using a ghia cowl to come up with the more rakish look. The same reason he used a 912 instead of a 911, since the fan cooling is forward on a 912 (ah-la 356). More of a 356 speedster style (see engine lid) then later 911 humpback. I like it (of course), a perfect transition between the 356 and the 911. Ted's work was outstanding, the paint is 13 years old, and not a crack or flaw to be seen. When I showed it to Gary at Part's Obsolete, he commented about the windshield. He said the you could only buy the '89 speedster windshields as a complete unit, (glass and frame), and they were over $3500 in the 1990s. It turns out mine is a factory 911/912 windshield that was cut down (much lower then an '89, same height as a 356 speedster) to fit a widened factory 356 speedster frame.
